The horse is an animal in which structure and function are conjugated. Its body is adapted for the speed and big dimension, and it is precisely this combination that helps us to understand its structure. Its members are specialized, with a one-toe hoof accompanied by the absence of muscles – those that enable other animals to catch objects.
The horse only moves its members for and backwards, providing it with excellent propulsion means.
The power it needs is provided by very developed muscles, connected to the bones of the thighs, the body trunk, and forearms.
